Kharkiv is a front-line city that was one of the first to feel the horrors of Russia's full-scale invasion. As of early August, more than a thousand civilians, including half a hundred children, had been killed by Russian shelling in Kharkiv and the region.
In the city and region, more than seven thousand urban infrastructure facilities, 2800 high-rise buildings, almost 1800 private residential buildings, more than 500 educational institutions, 150 hospitals and more than 100 cultural monuments were completely or partially destroyed.
The Russians continue shelling Kharkiv, so the number of destroyed and damaged urban infrastructure is constantly increasing.
