Moschun
Kyiv region
This small picturesque village, founded in the 17th century, is located 30 kilometers north of Kyiv. In March, fierce battles for the Ukrainian capital took place here.
Through Moschun, the Russians tried to advance into Kyiv, but the Ukrainian soldiers repulsed their attack. In an attempt to capture the village, the occupiers resorted to artillery shelling and air bombs. Now there are ruins everywhere. More than 70% of residential buildings have been ruined, and most of them are unlikely to be rebuilt. Industrial enterprises, greenhouses, shops, pharmacies, a school, a church, a house of culture, and a post office were significantly damaged.
More than UAH 1.1 billion ($37.5 million) is needed to rebuild Moschun's infrastructure.
