Posad-Pokrovske, Kherson region
The village of Posad-Pokrovske, located on the Mykolaiv-Kherson road, was on the front line from the first days of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. For the first time, the Russian military attacked the village on March 16, 2022, dropping an aerial bomb. Since then, for eight months, until the liberation of Kherson in mid-November, it was shelled by artillery and airstrikes.
Posad-Pokrovske is now one of the most destroyed settlements in Ukraine. 99% of all buildings were damaged. A school, a kindergarten, which could previously accommodate 250 children, and a cultural center were destroyed.
