Pytomnyk
Kharkiv region
On the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, on February 24, 2022, the village of Pytomnik was occupied. From the territory of the village, Russian troops tried to continue their offensive on Kharkiv. For more than two months, the village was used as a base by Russian troops: they stored equipment and ammunition, and stationed personnel. On May 10, 2022, the village was liberated by the Ukrainian military of the Kraken special unit of the 127th Territorial Defense Brigade. Due to hostilities and Russian shellings, which continue after the de-occupation, not a single surviving house remained in the village. As in some other small settlements to the north and east of Kharkiv, which were in the path of the Russian occupying forces, no one is left in Pytomnik. The territory of the village is mined, and there is no electricity and gas.
